Really good painting of Bob. The eyes, limited color palette and wonderful expressive marks, all work!

captivating portrait ! I also wonder how you can acrylic lookmas rich as oilpaint. I'm still struggling with that
Tanya Filichkin replied:
Thank you for a great comment, Lucia- I appreciate it very much! Regarding to your wondering about “rich as oil paint look” of my works- I guess it is mostly related to a question of creating a good tone value, strong contrast and using a high quality paints applied in a heavy, almost impasto style (I use “Golden Artists Colors” or “Liquitex Heavy Body” Acrylics mostly). And a professional scanner instead of photographing- it’s a plus for making high-resolution images in TIFF format, which look much better and rich. But I really love your painting style as it is - it looks beyond beautiful and authentically yours!

I am more than thrilled to learn this morning that this years Nobel Prize for Literature was given to the most incredible poet, songwriter, musician and genius artist - BOB DYLAN! The influence of BOB DYLAN writing on many generations over the last 50 years cant be better described than Malcolm Jones said today: Few authors can genuinely claim to have affected more people more profoundly with their art than Bob Dylan has, and certainly no living author has so singlehandedly redrawn and redefined the perimeter of the discipline he or she worked in the way Dylan has... CONGRATULATIONS TO BOB DYLAN !
